The “Art on the Move” placemaking and bus shelter improvement project in Lynn aimed to improve bus riders' experience walking to and at high-frequency bus stops. Other goals of the project included fostering community pride and sparking interest in the intersection of art and mobility. To make these improvements, local artists installed artwork reflecting the community and elements of “mobility hubs,” including wayfinding signs and bike racks. Civic Space Collaborative (CSC) provided project management services to manage the project team and production timeline, reviewing wayfinding and map designs and working to get approval for the project from the City of Lynn.

To gain approval for the project from the Lynn Public Property and Parks Committee, CSC created site plans for each mobility hub with the locations of the bike racks and wayfinding signs. CSC worked with the City to get support from the MBTA on the bus shelter artwork installation, in addition to supporting the City and Ad Hoc in releasing RPF and selecting the artists.

Additionally, CSC provided implementation support that included installing map stickers, wayfinding signs, bike racks, artwork either painted or applied in vinyl to the shelters, and planning the community celebration.
